Chapanese
It’s a mix of Chinese and Japanese that we created for lunch today. Jess and I received some new Japanese dishes for Christmas and we needed to try them out. We’ve also wanted to make dumplings from scratch but simple haven’t made the time. So yesterday we went to an exclusive Chinese Supermarket and bought some supplies.
We actually chickened out on the scratch dumpling for now, but we hope to try them soon. At the supermarket we picked up some frozen dumplings, and spring rolls, as well as dumpling sauce and a chicken teriyaki sauce. We then bought some California rolls from Tokyo Express, chicken from Superstore and a shrimp ring from my house. Multiple sauces are key to any successful Chapanese meal. Along with the dumpling sauce we had plum, hot chili, and soy/ginger (for the California rolls). It was a meal not to be forgotten.
